Overview
Our range of Averta door frames has been simplified to give a wide range of options from four basic ingredients
Frame type – Enhanced Profile – Fire Rating – Preferred Species
Averta DuoTouch
The Averta DuoTouch door lining is by far our most popular profile, this is the frame that started the Averta Range.
All exposed internal edges are finished with a 2mm pencil round; visually appealing and smooth to the touch.

As all our sections are machined in-house we are extremely flexible and can offer bespoke frame section sizes and other profiles if required. If you need something different, please let us know.
FD90 and FD120 doorsets are available within our certification but these are handled separately and subject to much different critera. As such, they do not form part of our mix and match range.

FD30S & FD60S – Smoke Rated
In years gone by a request for a doorset to be “S rated” for fire and smoke meant that the intumescent strip would contain an integral brush of fin seal.
Whilst this is still an integral part of the rating the gap between the door and floor finish now needs to be a maximum of 3mm.
In practice, 3mm undercuts are difficult to achieve and maintain unless the floor is absolutely perfectly flat and level.
Our option is to either fit an automatic dropdown seal to the door or to add a 15mm, full width timber threshold to the bottom of our door frame.
Intumescent Strips
The correct, as tested, intumescent strips will be supplied with all fire rated Averta door frames.
Guidance will be given as required but the options will depend on the type of door core used, the fire/smoke rating, any acoustic requirement along with direct specification by the architect.
Generally we use intumescents manufactured by Lorient, ISL, Pyroplex

Acoustic Door Frames
Even though acoustic upgrades always involve an extra or different set of perimeter seals to the door frame, we always deal with any acoustic upgrade as part of the door itself.
The acoustic test evidence is always tied to and dictated by the door core or door blank.
More details will can be found on the Averta Door sections of our website
Construction
Our door frames are constructed using a trenched housing joint, glued and screwed.
The trenching is always machined on our CNC centre to ensure accurate frame widths, each and every time.
Door frames are normally supplied fully assembled but there is an option for double door frames to be delivered loose for final assembly on site. These would be assembled dry in our factory before delivery.
